Physiotherapy

Whether it is necessary for a disability or injury, physiotherapy can treat a very wide range of conditions, from neck pain to spinal fusion. Some of the conditions physiotherapy may be the perfect approach for are:

  • cardiovascular – heart attack, heart disease etc.
  • neurological – Parkinson’s disease, stroke etc.
  • respiratory – asthma, COPD etc.
  • neuromusculoskeletal – arthritis, sports injuries, back pain etc.

The way physiotherapy – also known as physical therapy – works is by focusing on the weak aspects of the body so that the patients can gradually regain their strength. It is also noteworthy that there is no standard approach to physiotherapy, as each person is unique and requires a different series of exercises in order to achieve rehabilitation. The most common exercises physiotherapy involves are strengthening, aerobic conditioning and stretching.
