Matthew J. Gargulinski, MD, practices Orthopaedic Surgery in California since 2007 as a board certified Orthopaedic Surgeon, holding a Fellowship subspecialty training in Sports Medicine. Specialized in arthroscopic surgeries of the knee and shoulder, his focus lies on total knee and hip replacement surgeries.

Dr. Gargulinski is a graduate of Harvard University. He trained in Orthopaedic Surgery at the Michigan State University/Mt. Clemens Regional Center and specialized in Sports Medicine in San Diego.

Raised in Troy, Michigan, Dr. Gargulinski graduated with Honors from Harvard in 1996. In college, he sustained a major injury while playing football. This incident inspired him in choosing Orthopaedics as specialty. After completing his Michigan Orthopedic Surgery residency in 2007, Dr. Gargulinski focused on Sports Medicine. He performed his San Diego Fellowship training mentored by Dr. David Chao.

Dr. Gargulinski served as team physician for various sports, including football and rugby. He is experienced in treating cases in professional levels as well as in collegiate or high school ones. An active member of the American Osteopathic Academy of Orthopaedics, Dr. Gargulinski is dedicated to helping his patients face the effects of injury or arthritis. Benefiting from his knowledge and expertise, patients are able to maintain a healthy, active lifestyle. Inspired by how his own surgeon rebuilt his injured knee, Dr. Gargulinski went on to do the same for other injured athletes. Sustained by his complex perspective as both surgeon and patient, Dr. Gargulinski makes certain his patients receive compassionate and effective care that maintains and improves their quality of life.

Continually loving sports and outdoor activity, Dr. Gargulinski and his wife and son enjoy camping, hiking, mountain biking, kayaking, and beach activities.
